Mediation or Smoke-Screen? (here)

Letter at bottom admits that "The traffic counts done by Jim Gawlas for 2007 are the actual raw counts."
[obviously taken on a HIGH Traffic day]  This skews the graph upwards.
This Creates a Deliberate Misrepresentation of traffic trends.

Dear Residents' Representatives:

I am forwarding with this note the response of the County representatives,
received today, to your message of April 10.  I have talked with Mr.
Etheridge about it after I received it, and I'd like to speak with you, too,
to set it in context before you prepare your response.

If everyone would like to participate in a call, I can do it only during the
day tomorrow or Friday but could do it anytime Saturday, including early
evening.  Or Monday evening, although we should not wait that long unless it
is necessary.

Best wishes,

Dorothy Toth Beasley

TO:Judge Dorothy Beasley, Mediator

FROM:Bibb County Representatives

SUBJECT:Response to Citizens (4-10-08)

DATE:April 16, 2008

The Citizen’s response of April 10th stated that they do not accept our plan compromises up to and including the County’s March 25th response. Our group is very firm that a three lane section is needed north of Wimbish Road. We do not intend to offer additional compromises on this section. The impact of our proposed three lane section matched the impact that Resident’s Drawing No. 1 would have on the neighborhood and we think that this is as close to an agreement as we will ever get. However, since the Citizens Representatives have not accepted County Drawing No. 4, then we have no alternate but to continue to support County Drawing No. 2 (the original 3 lane section).

On the four lane section from Forsyth Road to Wimbish Road our Drawing No. B, which reduces the footprint from 86 feet 7 inches to 79 feet 5 inches is the best we can do. However, since this reduction does not help address the concerns raised by the neighborhood, then we have no alternate but to continue to support County Drawing No. A (the original four lane section).

Stantec’s actual computer program being used to design the Forest Hill Road project is Bentley’s Microstation SE for CADD work and Autodesk’s Caice 10 for design software. These programs are required to be used for all work done by the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The traffic counts done by Jim Gawlas for 2007 are the actual raw counts.

Judge, please make the usual distribution of our reply.

Thanks!
