PART IV:

A Texas blog post entitled "The Jihad Candidate" by Rich Carroll, has been widely circulated via e:mail,  Here are our replies to Mr. Rich's statements:

1. Is Obama the Manchurian Candidate? 

That book and movie were works of fiction, just like Mr. Carroll's e-mail piece. Where is his evidence?  If there is a so-called "Manchurian Candidate" in this presidential race it would more likely be John McCain. Obama was never a captive of Communists. McCain was. Obama was never subjected to brainwashing by Communists. McCain was. Obama never released Communist propaganda forced by his captives. McCain did. Do we think McCain is a "Manchurian Candidate"?  Of course not!! That's a stupid, fear-mongering premise for either candidate.

2. Muslims placed a senator from Illinois and a representative from Minnesota.

So what if they did (and where's the proof)?  This has nothing to do with Obama or McCain.  Once again, Mr. Carroll provides not one trace of verifiable documentation that "Muslims placed" anything. He just makes this claim and hopes the far-right will simply nod in agreement.

3. A candidate lying about their father being a 'freedom fighter.'

Again, not one trace of verifiable documentation was cited. What lies?  Where's the documentation about the "freedom fighter" part? If this was a provable point, logic would dictate Mr. Carroll would support his claim with facts. He doesn't. He just makes the statement for the gullible to accept on face value.

4. A candidate with close ties to the Nation of Islam.

What "close ties"? Where's the verifiable documentation? If he knows someone who was part of the Nation of Islam, does that prove anything?  If someone you knew committed murder, does that make you a "murderer"?  Hardly. Does that indicate you support or condone murder? Hardly. It's an undocumented absurd contention.

5. Obama changed his name from Barry. 

That's a lie!  His name was never "Barry," so it was never changed. As a young child he was briefly called by the shortened nickname "Barry" instead of Barrack.  So what?  Would you be shocked to learn that John McCain was called "Johnny" when he was a little boy?  This is supposed to be an issue in our presidential race?

6. Surrounded by Islamic teachers.

At age ten, Obama moved to Hawaii where he lived with his grandparents. Before age ten he attended school in Jakarta, Indonesia, maybe there were Islamic teachers at that school. If so, so what?  We have relatives whose children are going to school in Indonesia as we speak.  Does that mean they are Islamic?  McCain attended school around the world also. It proves nothing. 7. A bitter, racist, anti-white, anti-American wife. 

That's Mr. Carroll's opinion, not a fact. It speaks more to the character of the author and the gullible willing to accept his claim, than it provides information. Does he even know her?  Has he listened to everything she's said - in context?  If Mr. Carroll is referring to something he didn't like in Michelle Obama's college thesis, see more on that subject below.  In making this statement, once again, the author provides no verifiable source. It has been a tactic employed before to attack someone's wife or even their children in an attempt to smear and demean a candidate. Early in Bill Clinton's first term Rush Limbaugh went on his national program and mocked Chelsea Clinton, who was 13 or 14 at the time, because he didn't think she was attractive. Who cared?  It's a cowardly, slimy, approach, but I guess they know their audience. 

8. Supply him with Muslim middle east connections and Islamic monies. 

He has not one verifiable source to support this claim. If there was any truth to his allegation why would he intentionally fail to provide it? 
9. Proclaim he will give $834 billion taxpayer dollars to the Muslim controlled United Nations for use in Africa. 

It's a lie that the United Nations is "Muslim controlled."  It is known that Neo-Cons hate the United Nations, so they are prone to make all kinds of false claims against it. Again, the author makes no effort to validate his claim with any verifiable source. This is also an intentional misrepresentation. Obama supports a bill called the Global Poverty Act, which makes no specific reference to Africa. The amount cited is one calculated by Right-Wing bloggers who oppose the United Nations. However, on the specific subject of aid to Africa, "The U.S. is on track to increase total assistance to Africa to $8.7 billion by 2010, double the level of assistance in 2004." 10. Allow your candidate to employ several black racist Nation of Islam Louis Farrakhan followers as members of his Illinois Senatorial and campaign staffs. 

This is a repetitive comment, but where is the source to support such a claim? Since the author makes his unsupported claim and considers this a great offense, why didn't he mention that John McCain actually had a terrorist employed on his campaign staff as a fund raiser? John McCain removed a man from his finance committee that was labeled as a supporter of Hezbollah, and "a key agent of the terrorist group in the Detroit area". Those allegations didn't come from the Democrats. They came from Debbie Schlussel, a Republican and conservative writer. It certainly doesn't give the appearance of good judgment to employ a member of Hezbollah, an organization the US State Department labels as a "terrorist organization", as a key fund raiser. But, since the author is a supporter of McCain he intentionally left that part out. So much for objectivity! 11. Where is the bloodhound American 'free press' who doggedly overturned every stone in the Watergate case? Where are our nation's reporters that have placed every Presidential candidate under the microscope of detailed scrutiny; the same press who pursue Bush's 'Skull and Bones' club or ran other candidates off with persistent detective and research work? Why haven't 'newsmen' pursued the 65 blatant lies told by this candidate during the Presidential primaries? Where are the stories about this candidate's cousin and the Muslim butchery in Africa? Since when did our national press corps become weak, timid, and silent? Why haven't they regaled us with the long list of socialists and communists who have surrounded this 'out of nowhere' Democrat candidate, or that his church re-printed the Hamas Manifesto in their bulletin, and that his 'close pastor friend and mentor' met with Middle East terrorist Moammar Gaddafi, (Guide of the First of September Great Revolution of the Socialist People's Libyan Ara Jamahiriya)? Why isn't the American press telling us this candidate is supported by every Muslim organization in the world?

If this "author" is in possession of such damning evidence that can be supported with verifiable facts, why didn't he list them? Why doesn't he give them to the Republican National Committee so they can use them? Why doesn't he call a press conference and lay out his case to the media?  You can guess the answer to that.

12. As an ultimate slap in the face, be blatant in the fact your candidate has ZERO interest in traditional American values and has the most liberal voting record in U.S. Senate history.

It's a lie to claim Obama has "ZERO interest in traditional American values." Research his family life and get the facts. There is a huge difference between facts and opinion. And, there's also a big difference between truth and lies. This is a lie. Again, he offers no facts to support his lie, he just makes the claim and wants you to consider his opinion as a fact. The next part is a defining point. We don't have a problem with a liberal voting record, but we understand others do. Voting to support health, education, veterans' benefits, helping our own citizens, not wanting to declare pre-emptive wars, doesn't seem like such a bad thing to us.  It's our opinion that we need to spend more money on Americans and America and less on Iraq. Guess that makes us liberals. We don't apologize for that. That's why we have a two party political system.

13. Why has mainstream media...

The author again alludes to some kind of conspiracy in the mainstream media in their failure to devote air time and press coverage to his opinions. The reason mainstream media is not devoting efforts to this author's claims is simple. They're completely unsubstantiated. They are opinions not facts; and the biggie... they're false. If there was merit to his claims the legitimate news media would be all over it a blink. They want viewers, listeners and subscribers and big stories provide those. Destroying credibility with absurd opinions isn't a path to journalistic success.

14. Why will they print Hillary Rodham Clinton's name but never write his middle name? Is it not his name? Why, suddenly, is ANY information about this candidate not coming from main stream media, but from the blogosphere by citizens seeking facts and the truth?

Obama has had his middle name published. Hillary has had her middle name published. McCain has had his middle name published. Middle names aren't always used, because it's not relevant. The author would like Obama's middle name highlighted, since it conjures up a perceived negative in some people's minds. Only an idiot would claim that no information about Obama is coming from mainstream media. What he means is, why isn't mainstream media providing a forum for his unsubstantiated, false claims? Finding a right wing site in the blogoshphere loaded with unsubstantiated claims and opinions is hardly finding a source for accurate facts, especially when no accurate sources are ever furnished. 

15. There is enough strange, anti-American activity surrounding Barack The Next President Obama to peek the curiosity of any reporter. WHERE IS OUR INVESTIGATIVE MEDIA!?

Again, if this "author" has the facts about strange, anti-American activity, why doesn't he share them? Why doesn't he prove his claims? Why won't he contact the media and furnish them with the proof? Could it be because there are no facts, no proof, no documentation, no verifiable sources? It's easier to write a smear e-mail playing on public fears and send it across the Internet to those who are already primed to swallow his unsubstantiated malarkey.

16. A formal plan for targeting America was devised three years after the Iranian revolution in 1982. The plan was summarized in a 1991 memorandum by Mohamed Akram, an operative of the global Muslim Brotherhood. 'The process of settlement' of Muslims in America, Akram explained, 'is a civilization jihad process.' This means that members of the Brotherhood must understand that their work in 'America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within, sabotaging its miserable house by their own hands and the hands of the believers, so that it is eliminated, and God's religion is made victorious over all other religions.'

Do you remember Clara Peller and the Wendy's commercial? Where's the beef? Where's the documentation? What are the sources to support his claim? If he has evidence, why did he intentionally leave it out? It doesn't really matter, since it has no relevance to either of the candidates and only furthers his own political agenda.

17. There is terrorism we can see, smell and fear, but there is a new kind of terror invading The United States in the form of Sharia law and finance. Condoning it is civilization 'suicide'. Middle East Muslims are coming to America in record numbers and building 'hate infidel' Mosques, buying our corporations, suing us for our traditions, but they and the whole subject of Islam is 'white' noise, leaving uninformed Americans in the dark about who and what is really peaceful. Where is our investigative press? Any criticism of Islam or their intentions (even though Islamic leaders state their intentions daily around the globe), brings-forth a volley of 'racist' from the left-wing Democrat crowd.

Playing the "fear card" has been a hallmark of the Bush administration and circulating Karl Rovian Internet legends is a dirty propaganda technique. Again, where's the documentation? What are the sources to support his claim? If he has evidence, why did he intentionally leave it out?  Unfortunately, there are wealthy people and groups from many nations who are buying up American corporations and properties. Does this make all people of Islamic faith bad?  Smear propagandists make up a claim, fail to document it, then blames the media for the unsupported evil they circulate.  

18. Lies and deception behind a master plan - the ingredients for 'The Manchurian Candidate' or the placement of an anti-American President in our nation's White House? Is it mere coincidence that an anti-capitalist run for President at the same time Islamic sharia finance and law is trying to make advancing strides into the United States? Is it mere coincidence this same candidate wants to DIS-ARM our nuclear capability at a time when terrorist Muslim nations are EXPANDING their nuclear weapons capability? Is it mere coincidence this candidate wants to REDUCE our military at a time of GLOBAL JIHAD from Muslim nations?

There is no doubt, proven with documented, verifiable facts, that this "author" has employed lies and deception to promote his agenda. Perhaps that is the "master plan" he refers to. We know you're tired of hearing this by now, but:  Where's the documentation to prove his claims? What are the sources to support his claims? When and where has Obama tried to disarm our nuclear capability or reduce our military (except in Iraq)?  If he has evidence, why did he intentionally leave it out? It's our opinion he left it out because he doesn't have any. What other reason could there be?  He runs fast and loose with the truth, states opinion as fact, and hopes those who read his drivel will be gullible enough, because they have a hunger to believe ill of Obama, to accept his opinions as facts and truth.

PART V:

Let’s zero in on “O = ZERO,” a widely circulated article written by Dr. Jack Wheeler, who funded the Freedom Research Foundation, a think tank and lobbying off-shoot of the Conservative Caucus, an aggressive organization that works at the congressional district level to promote an ultraconservative agenda, which group was the 1984 brainchild of deceased Sen. Jesse Helms of North Carolina.

1. The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, no balls, nothing but abstract empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

2. He has no real identity.  He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya. Only a small part of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he pretends he is exclusively.

Where is the evidence that Obama rejects his white half?  He certainly talks about and thinks highly of his white family, who raised him.  How many of you had control over your heritage or who you were named for (After he was two years old, Obama met his father – for whom he was named - only once).  Where is thre proof that he pretends he is exclusively Luo, as was his paternal African grandmother?

3. What he isn't, not a genetic drop of, is 'African-American,' the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He hasn't a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is the descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah.

So what??  Let’s get this straight; can anyone help it their ancestors weren’t slaves or that they might have been slave owners or that slave-trading was once big business in East Africa??  Can Obama help it if he is a 7th cousin to Dick Cheney on his mother's side? How does this make him a perfect Liberal Messiah?  How on earth does this have anything to do with our Presidential campaign?

4. It's something Hillary doesn't understand - how some complete neophyte came out of the blue and stole the Dem nomination from her. Obamamania is beyond politics and reason. It is a true religious cult, whose adherents reject Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin, transferring it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white.

Thus Obama has become the white liberals' Christ, offering absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can be effective against it. The absurdity of Hypocrisy Clothed In Human Flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for liberals to worship him: Credo quia absurdum, I believe it because it is absurd.

Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior.

For the eventual better or worse, didn't John F. Kennedy and George W. Bush come more or less "out of the blue" when they ran for President?  Additionally, we can guarantee that a huge number of liberal Christians (and we know many of them), who support Obama, take great offense at being told they reject Christianity, are members of a cult, and that they worship Obama.  These outrageous contentions are Wheeler’s opinions and are absolutely, to use his word, an "absurd" attempt to foment racial and religious division. 

PART VI:

The following is in reply to a fear-mongering e:mail being circulated, which doesn’t directly mention Barrack Obama, but is intended to scare Americans for whatever political purpose.  It is entitled:  U.S. Intel:  Iran Plans Nuclear Strike on U.S. by Kenneth R. Timmerman.  We can send you the entire post if you care to read it.  Suffice it to say:  Mr. Timmerman is Executive Director of the Foundation for Democracy in Iran, a member of the “Committee on the Present Danger,” and is on the Advisory Board of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs.  He is a member of the “Committee on the Present Danger, and also on the Advisory Board of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs. 

Also a member of the “Committee on the Present Danger, and also on the Advisory Board of the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs is Randy Scheunemann, who is John McCain’s 2008 Presidential Campaign’s Chief Foreign Policy Aide.  Scheunemann was an adviser to now-disgraced Iraqi Ahmad Chalabi and is also the Director of the Project for a New American Century (PNAC).  Vice President Dick Cheney was a founding member of PNAC, along with Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and Defense Policy Board chairman Richard Perle. Paul Wolfowitz was the ideological father of this Neo-Con group.

The threat of electromagnetic pulse attacks has been known since the Cold War with the Soviet Union.  Why is it suddenly so urgent that this man’s opinions are being circulated at this time in e:mails? 

Below are articles that may shed more light for you on this issue.  Be sure to look at the dates and notice that North Korea has been recognized as more of an EMP threat than Iran.  North Korea was mentioned in the 2004 report of the Commission to Assess the Threat to the United States from Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack and again in the 2008 report. China also now has such capability.  

But, it isn’t North Korea or China the Neo-Cons are publicizing as the threat. They’ve rattled our cage to invade Iran since right after we attacked Iraq.  Also, consider that the powerful military-industrial complex, including Halliburton and its subsidiaries, reap vast fortunes from war and some have pushed for years to have us fund a “Star Wars” missile defense system.  Along these lines, note the Project for a New American Century’s ties to the military-industrial complex and that EMP Commission Chairman William R. Graham is also the Chairman and President of National Security Research, Inc., a company that has already won government contracts to protect the nation's critical infrastructure. 

While you are doing your research, keep in mind that Iraq has oil resources second only to Saudi Arabia. Iran has the third largest reserves. We found some of the above associations intriguing in view of the new Iraqi oil contracts (Google it!!).

Again, this is not an attempt to sway you politically. It is simply to say that we feel just as strongly now about unsavory campaign tactics as we did when unscrupulous individuals went after McCain eight years ago, and, we are tired of fear-mongering. It’s about negative, baseless attacks and unfounded statements that prey on prejudices, attempt to scare us, divert our attention, promote private agendas, and try divide us.  And, it is about trying to put an end to them so we can concentrate on the real issues of greatest importance to the whole of our Nation.
